Eyeshield 21: The False Hero continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next nine chapters (8–16) of the on-going manga series。After Sena Kobayakawa refuses to quit, Yoichi Hiruma, the captain and quarterback of the team, tricks Mamori Anezaki, Sena Kobyakawa's best friend and bully protector, to make her join the football club as a manager, in order to keep her eye and protect Sena Kobyakwa。A shocking surprise is that they have to face the Ojo White Knights in their next ma Eyeshield 21: The False Hero continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next nine chapters (8–16) of the on-going manga series。After Sena Kobayakawa refuses to quit, Yoichi Hiruma, the captain and quarterback of the team, tricks Mamori Anezaki, Sena Kobyakawa's best friend and bully protector, to make her join the football club as a manager, in order to keep her eye and protect Sena Kobyakwa。A shocking surprise is that they have to face the Ojo White Knights in their next match。 The Ojo White Knights are considered the second best team in Kantō and the Deimon Devil Bats are naturally nervous about it。 All the temporary players want more information about Eyeshield 21 from Yoichi Hiruma, who tells a lie that he is from Notre Dame。During the big day, Sena Kobayakawa nearly leaves the team after hearing that Seijuro Shin, the ace linebacker of the Ojo White Knights, injured two players and that he is the primary target。 However, after all the players express their hope to beat them – he joins in。 The White Knights are caught off guard when Sena Kobayakawa makes a touchdown in the beginning of the match。 They hope for the second touchdown but as Seijuro Shin enters, everything changes。This tankōbon is written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Yusuke Murata。 For the most part, I really liked the story。 I like the development of Sena Kobayakawa and his first real game with a formable team。 Murata's illustrations were beautifully rendered and show the promise that he would one day grow into。All in all, Eyeshield 21: The False Hero is a wonderful continuation to a new series that seems intriguing and I cannot wait to read more。 。。。more

In just the second volume, the Deimon High Devil Bats football team of misfits face their definitive rivals; the Oujuo White Knights。 Polar opposites across an extensive social gap, these Knights are what the Devil Bats are not。 A disciplined team with solid fundamentals in both offense and defense。 If not for a slight snafu, the White Knights should be drubbing our misfit team and they are but for a quirky start, the Devil Bats still a very slim chance of winning this one。The second game needs In just the second volume, the Deimon High Devil Bats football team of misfits face their definitive rivals; the Oujuo White Knights。 Polar opposites across an extensive social gap, these Knights are what the Devil Bats are not。 A disciplined team with solid fundamentals in both offense and defense。 If not for a slight snafu, the White Knights should be drubbing our misfit team and they are but for a quirky start, the Devil Bats still a very slim chance of winning this one。The second game needs another volume to wrap this up and this reader would definitely be reading it。 。。。more

Hiruma has to come up with a plan to stop Mamori from interfering with Sena playing on his American football team, the Deimon Devilbats。 Mamori just wants to protect Sena, and she doesn't want him around the dangerous Hiruma (even though she doesn't know he's playing IN the game as the amazing running back Eyeshield 21), so she is allowed to join as secretary to keep her eye on them。 After having beaten the Koigahama Cupids in the previous volume, the Devilbats are now up against the White Knigh Hiruma has to come up with a plan to stop Mamori from interfering with Sena playing on his American football team, the Deimon Devilbats。 Mamori just wants to protect Sena, and she doesn't want him around the dangerous Hiruma (even though she doesn't know he's playing IN the game as the amazing running back Eyeshield 21), so she is allowed to join as secretary to keep her eye on them。 After having beaten the Koigahama Cupids in the previous volume, the Devilbats are now up against the White Knights from Ojo。 There's no way they can win because Ojo has Shin--an incredible light-speed running back who can rival Sena's speed。 Shin is powerful and really means business, and when Sena hears horror stories about how badly other players have been injured playing against him, he wants to back out and stop playing。 But team spirit gets to him and he enters the game anyway。 Things look promising when Shin isn't in the game--he's on the bench--but then he gets sent in and makes short work of Sena over and over again。 Hiruma declares a win hopeless, but even if they can't win, Sena still wants to try again to get past Shin。 。 。 。One great thing about this manga is that it features the "villains"--the other teams--as sympathetic characters as well。 Shin has flaws (for instance, he can't use electronics without breaking them) and is dark and obsessed, but has an amazing ability to analyze other people's movements and saw right through Sena's eyeshield disguise (so he knows what his real identity is)。 I love that Sena admires him even though they're on opposite teams。 Interesting also are the stories behind other major Ojo players: Sakuraba, a tall wide receiver, is better known as a screen star and looks like a model, so everyone wants to take his picture and bill him as the hero of the team, but he knows Shin is the team's real ace and he's only advantaged somewhat because he's so tall。 And their quarterback, Takami, is a physically disadvantaged player because an injury from his childhood prevents him from running, but his phenomenal calculations allow him to throw the ball with precision。 Another thing that's wonderful about this manga is that the good guys sometimes lose。 If a team called the Deimon Devilbats with a demonic quarterback can be considered the good guys。 。。。more

Pretty good second volume。 The team expands their management personnel and goes up against the premiere team in the area; the White Nights。 Sena meets a potential nemesis in Wide Receiver / Linebacker White Night Shin。 Fun volume with an excellent early cliffhanger for vol 3。

This is the second book of the Eyeshield 21 series and it is about Sena's football team, The Deimon Devil Bats against the top high school team the Ojou White Knights。 Even if Sena is fast, Ojou has the best defensive line and one of the best offensive in the league。 In the game he tried to get past Ojou's ace player Shin but he just gets knocked down again and again。 But he eventually got through only once and that was the last time in the whole game。 But in the end after all that effort they This is the second book of the Eyeshield 21 series and it is about Sena's football team, The Deimon Devil Bats against the top high school team the Ojou White Knights。 Even if Sena is fast, Ojou has the best defensive line and one of the best offensive in the league。 In the game he tried to get past Ojou's ace player Shin but he just gets knocked down again and again。 But he eventually got through only once and that was the last time in the whole game。 But in the end after all that effort they still lost against Ojou even after multiple tries。 I can connect this to many athletes just like the Deimon Devil Bats who try as hard as they can and they will succeed once of multiple tries but in the end they will still lose but some get successful and start a career。 I rate this volume a 4 because I still think the plot is the same as any other cartoon where the main character meets someone better, then they do some kind of face off and the main character would lose。 Then, as a result the character is going to train more and more until they face off again。 。。。more
